I played at the Nexus ESports Modern 1K in Waco, Texas yesterday. As always, it is a great venue and great event. I played Bant Infect:
4 Blighted Agent
4 Glistener Elf
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Teferi, Time Raveler
4 Scale Up
1 Might of Old Krosa
4 Vines of Vastwood
4 Blossoming Defense
4 Groundswell
3 Spell Pierce
2 Distortion Strike
1 Dismember
4 Inkmoth Nexus
4 Wooded Foothills
4 Windswept Heath
1 Horizon Canopy
2 Forest
2 Breeding Pool
1 Dryad Arbor
1 Pendelhaven
2 Temple Garden
Sideboard
4 Rest in Peace
2 Ceremonious Rejection
1 Wild Defiance
1 Twisted Image
1 Surgical Extraction
1 Return to Nature
1 Carrion Call
1 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
1 Viridian Corrupter
1 Stony Silence
I somehow misplaced my Might of Old Krosa and could only find one copy. So I played the full four Groundswell in a reverse split of what I wanted to play. (If you borrowed Mights from me and didn't return them, please let me know!)
The deck performed great, I only lost one game all day. The competition was maybe on the weaker side and lots of people playing new cards so decks maybe not quite as tuned as normal. No one showed up with any Hogaak so maybe not a representative sample either.
Round 1 - 4-Color Snow
I had seen this list floating around, but clearly didn't pay enough attention as I got blown out by K Command and probably in a losing position but drew Teferi with an Inkmoth in play and bounced his Ice-Fang Coatl and drew the pump spell I needed to win off the draw. Game two he taps out turn four for a Karn with a snake and explosives set on one. My board was just three lands with Noble Hierarch. He grabs something irrelevant from the sideboard because I end of turn cast Carrion Call, untap and play Teferi to bounce the snake and play two big pump spells to deal him 10. Nice.
1-0
Round 2 - Wb Marty Proclamation
This deck was sweet. He had the full eight Rangers of Eos, new Sorin, and Orzhov Charm. I probably punt game one when I don't protect my creature when he uses Ranger-Captain ability on his turn and I have Teferi in play. I still had some chances to draw Distortion Strike but he had too fast a clock with Serra Ascendants. Game two I get lucky and draw Pendelhaven the turn he uses Ranger-Captain and I needed one extra power to force him to use the Kami of False Hope. This means I was able to kill him a turn earlier which was the difference in chump blockers for his attacks. Game three he has a bunch of removal but no threat and I eventually stuck a creature and protected it to get there.
2-0
Round 3 - UW Control
Game one he cast turn one Peek and still couldn't beat my hand. Had to play into Spell Pierce which he knew about and then didn't use Force of Negation on my pump while tapped out. This left him too low and I just killed him with three one-power infecters and a Pendelhaven. Game two was similar, he had to play into Spell Pierce which he didn't know about this time but I had it. He used Narset to find Dovin's Veto but was just dead on board.
3-0
Round 4 - Humans
I win the die roll which is crucial, and have turn one Noble Hierarch. I play Glistener and Blighted Agent on turn two. He just plays Thalia off his Noble but has no second land. I'm able to use Distortion Strike and Groundswell to put him to 7 poison, and he can't stop my attack on the following turn. Game two he mulligans to four cards and keeps zero lands and scoops after missing twice.
4-0
Round 5 - ID
I'm top seed going into top 8. We had fewer than 32 players though, so the cash only pays to top 4. We all decide to split it 8 ways. If we had more than 32 I probably would have not split the top 8 round at least. We play one round of top 8 for fun
Top 8 - Wb Marty Proclamation
I get to play first from higher seed, and kill him turn three when he doesn't have untapped second land for Orzhov Charm. Game two was probably my favorite game of the day. He gets to 32 life early on but I attack him down below 30 with Distortion Strike to make his Serra Ascendant in Dismember range. He showed me Wrath of God with the Martyr so I play in a way that gets him to commit another Ascendant to the board before playing my infect creature. I Surgical his Ranger of Eos and and he Wraths and we go into topdeck mode after he uses Anguished Unmaking on my Jace. I protect my inkmoth from Field of Ruin to make sure I have a threat and also keep him off of extra Plains for Emeria. I Scale Up to put him to 6 poison, then end of turn fetch and promptly punished for it by drawing Groundswell which I use to put him to 9 poison. He bricks on the two draw steps and I win.
5-0-1
The deck was nice and felt different than Infect has in the past. Teferi is such a strong card in the archetype you get to play a False Tempo style where they have to be fearful of your early turns but by the time they ready to interact you have Teferi in play and just kill them. I really liked Carrion Call and having 21 lands. Didn't miss having Mutagenic Growth since you aren't trying to be as fast as possible but you can still build Scale Up versions with it if you prefer being more all-in, which I don't. Spell Pierce was great at setting up the Teferi subgame. Distortion Strike is a must-have in the current meta in my opinion.
I'll probably work on this more before the GP Dallas at the end of the month. I would definitely play this again.

Mythic Championship II London Report
Last weekend I played in the Mythic Championship in London. I went 6-8 before deciding to drop. Below I'll share some of my takeaways.
Limited
I really enjoyed the prerelease aspect of this format. I didn't feel like I was significantly behind the curve compared to most players. I even defeated a player in round 3 who had done almost 15 practice drafts. I don't have nearly as much time to prepare for events as the pros, and I think my time is better spent preparing for constructed. I hope they do this as frequently as possible.
My preparation was mainly reading the spoiler focusing on commons and uncommons to get a sense for where the power cards were. I had Haibing Hu write up some rankings that I used to get a baseline for the cards. I then picked the ones that I disagreed with to discuss more, mainly with Collin Rountree on the day before the event while riding around London on the tube. It's a good strategy to save time avoiding needless discussion about the cards you agree on and focusing on the ones that maybe you don't. I didn't know any archetypes but though RG and UB would be good combinations based on what we discussed.
My drafts were fairly straightfoward after the first couple of picks. Draft 1 I took Eternal Skylord over Sorin P1P1, and I still think that is the correct pick. I didn't want to commit to two colors I wasn't sure about so early. I ended up solidly in blue after the next few picks of some looters. I was trying to find a second color but has some playable black and white cards. I opened Finale of Triumph pack 2 and became solidly UW. I did mess up in pack 3 passing a Teferi for a tapper because I didn't read Teferi correctly. Overall the deck was more on the controlling side. I was impressed by Karn's Bastion with even the little uses I had for it. I was also impressed by Stealth Mission. Here is my first deck:
2-1 with this deck. #MythicChampionshipII pic.twitter.com/cmZvqD3QJo— Ty Thomason (@ceciliajupe) April 26, 2019
My draft on day 2 also started with a close P1P1: Jiang Yanggu or Mizzium Tank. I didn't know much about the vehicle, but imagined it could easily be blanked by opposing creatures giving the slowness of the format. I took Jiang and then a couple of blue cards including Tamiyo's Epiphany. The green mainly dried up so I had a few red creatures. I ended up in UR Spells that would have really liked the Tank.
My overall limited record was 3-3. I think my second deck was better than 1-2. I lost a match when I probably played slightly off a couple of early turns and then lost to three planewalkers off the top 10 turns later when I could have maybe won the game already. I lost my second round when I didn't draw red land in time either game. I think both decks are about 2-1 quality.
I don't have much to say about the format in general but I enjoyed my matches at the PT. I'll be playing it again in two weeks at MagicFest Madison.
Felt unlucky to go 1-2 with this deck. 6-5 #MythicChampionshipII pic.twitter.com/dshQNO6myz— Ty Thomason (@ceciliajupe) April 27, 2019

Modern
I played GW Hatebears as detailed here. The final list was this:
4 Horizon Canopy
4 Temple Garden
4 Razorverge Thicket
2 Forest
2 Plains
4 Ghost Quarter
1 Field of Ruin
4 Aether Vial
4 Path to Exile
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Thalia, guardian of Thraben
4 Leonin Arbiter
4 Scavenging Ooze
2 Voice of Resurgence
2 Renegade Rallier
1 knight of autumn
4 Flickerwisp
4 Restoration Angel
2 Eternal Witness
Sideboard
1 Knight of Autumn
1 Dromoka's Command
3 Grafdigger's Cage
2 Consulate Crackdown
3 Damping Sphere
3 Stony Silence
1 Declaration in Stone
1 Valorous Stance
I was fairly certain it wasn't the best choice, but it did beat the decks I wanted to beat: Dredge, Tron, Phoenix. I probably underestimated the amount of UW the pros would play since it wasn't very good at the last Modern PT (before Jace was unbanned). I knew Humans would be a bad matchup. I went 3-5 before dropping.
My wins were against Death's Shadow twice and UW Control once. Almost every time my opponent made a match losing mistake. My round 4 opponent cast Snapcaster Mage to block a Leonin Arbiter, but immediately lost to Path to Exile and post combat Ghost Quarter leaving him with no mana to pay to activate his two fetchlands. My round 6 opponent fetched with Arbiter in play and not paying for it. My round 5 opponent didn't know how Thalia plus Engineered Explosives worked and was unable to win what should have been an easy game for him.
I lost a really close second game in round 7 to Humans after stealing game 1 when he kept a very questionable hand. He then destroyed me game 3 when we both mulligan to 5. Round 8 I also lost to Humans, neither game very close.
Day two I lost to Phoenix, UW, and Affinity before dropping. I played really badly vs Affinity and that was the main reason for dropping. My head wasn't in it anymore.
Overall the deck is fine and probably better for a more varied field than a PT. I'm looking forward to Modern Horizons to shake things up because right now I'm not in love with any particular modern deck.
London Mulligan
London Mulligan is great. I mulliganed to 5 or 4 several times and each time I got to play a real game of Magic. I also lost each game, so maybe thats something important. It didn't seem to me to affect much about Modern and I think they should implement it for all formats, or at least back to Modern.
The Rest
I had a great vacation with my wife during the week before the tournament. We visited Ireland, Northern Ireland, and of course London in the days following the tournament. It's always a good time travelling with her no matter how the Magic tournaments end up.
I'm very sad to hear about Yuuya Watanabe alleged cheating. At this point having seen the sleeves I think it's very hard to defend his actions. I want to believe his previous accomplishments were clean but this of course casts doubt on them. If it was somehow accidental, let this be a lesson to shuffle your deck and / or sleeves prior to sleeving up when using new sleeves to avoid any discernable patters from wear.
As for future PTs, I'll keep trying to qualify when I can. This is the first one I've ever cashed since they pay everyone a minimum $500. I'm at the level of Day 2 Gatekeeper. I'm beating the players who are inexperienced or not quite ready for Day 2 while not being able to beat those who are excellent or great at the game. I lost two games to opponents who had to play perfectly to win and they did so. This may change my approach if I ever make it back in the future.
Thanks,
Ty

Modern Preparations Part 4
(previous post here)
This will probably be the last update before the MC. I leave on Thursday and need to have the cards I want to play picked out by then. I'll be enjoying a hopefully relaxing time vacationing in Ireland the week before the event.
Since the Hunter Burton Tournament, I've been playing a huge variety of decks trying to figure out what I want to play. Two additional factors I've had to consider are the London Mulligan and the late change to having all decklists public (you will share your list with your opponent before playing from round 5 onward). While these factors certainly matter, I still think playtesting results should have the most weight.

Two additional factors I've had to consider are the London Mulligan and the late change to having all decklists public (you will share your list with your opponent before playing from round 5 onward). While these factors certainly matter, I still think playtesting results should have the most weight.
Some decks I've tried:
Mono-white Death and Taxes with Tithe Taker - Tithe Taker is not a Modern playable card and actually hurt me in some games by preventing my opponent from making mistakes.
Black-white Eldrazi and Taxes with Kaya - This deck felt nice but I didn't think the black sideboard cards were anything to rave about. Kaya was solid and deserving of her spot in this archetype.
Red-green Eldrazi Aggro with Gruul Spellbreaker - I really enjoyed playing this deck. I hedged greatly vs Phoenix by playing Mizzium Mortars over Lightning Bolt, the full set of Scavenging Ooze, and several Domri Rade. Cavern of Souls is really bad but you can easily avoid playing it. This deck also benefits from London Mulligan (most TKS based decks will). In the end, Ancient Stirrings was just not quite strong enough at finding threats that matter in the late game (only 12 eldrazi creatures to find, and both Obligator and Reality Smasher are very situational) for me to want to commit.
Tron and Phoenix - I believe these will be the two most played decks. I played some leagues with each to get a feel. Tron has been my backup deck since day 1 and nothing changed from playing it. It benefits the most from the London Mulligan and doesn't lose a lot from known decklist. Phoenix was also very powerful but I'm a bit averse to needing to cast spells to hit land drops. Also the matches I lost my opponenter were very prepared and also knew exactly what I was doing and how to counter it. I could see this still being the deck to beat (especially the 4x Pyromancer Ascension version) but it isn't exactly my style so I'm staying away. This might be a mistake.
Infect - I spent quite a while trying to see if I could get Infect to a place where it could beat the expected field. Amulet and Tron were great matchups. Dredge felt solid. Phoenix was beatable with Wild Defiance. Unfortunately the Death's Shadow and Human matchup were very difficult. Added with a really awful matchup against Jund or BG Midrange I couldn't get myself to pull the trigger.
The deck I'll play
I'm going to just play the GW Hatebear deck again. I really liked its sideboard and its matchup against Tron and Phoenix. It might not gain much from the London Mulligan, but it does have some tilt equity when your opponent sees the list. The only matchups I'm concerned about are UW Control and Humans, but I think both are winable. I'm also not certain how much UW will be at the MC.
Now its time to shift focus to limited prepartion, which is going to invole a lot of studying the spoiler and some intense theory-crafting. Hopefully I'll be able to get a few games in next week on Arena before the event.

Modern Prepartions Part 3 / Hunter Burton Memorial Report
After being worried that I couldn't win with anything, I switched to a list that caught my eye. It largely caught my eye because I had lost to the exact deck and player in a league. It was a GW Hatebears list with many of my favorite cards and interactions: Restoration Angel and Renegade Rallier, Ramunap Excavator and Horizon Canopy, Aether Vial and Flickerwisp, Aether Vial and Creatures.
The list was played by DanniMRebel. I noticed he had an updated list on a later league, so I put it together and began playing. I went 4-1 in each of my first two leagues. I was finally off of my losing ways! I also played in a store event and went 2-1, so things were looking promising. A few adjustments to the sideboard based on the expected metagame and I registered this list for the Hunter Burton Memorial Open:
4 Horizon Canopy
4 Razorverge Thicket
4 Temple Garden
2 Forest
2 Plains
4 Ghost Quarter
1 Field of Ruin
4 Aether Vial
4 Path to Exile
4 Noble Hierarch
4 Thalia, guardian of Thraben
4 Leonin Arbiter
4 Scavenging Ooze
2 Voice of Resurgence
3 Renegade Rallier
4 Flickerwisp
1 Knight of Autumn
4 Restoration Angel
1 Eternal Witness
Sideboard
1 Knight of Autumn
1 Dromoka's Command
2 Grafdigger's Cage
2 Phyrexian Revoker
2 Consulate Crackdown
2 Gaddock Teeg
1 Blessed Alliance
2 Stony Silence
1 Declaration in Stone
1 damping sphere
The Tournament
I've played in this event four times now, and it's usually a good time (last year had me somewhat upset, but that has nothing to do with the actual event and is something that could have occurred at any tournament). It's one of my goals to one day Top 8 the event and hopefully win. Many of my friends have their names on that trophy and I've never really come close. This would be the first year of a two-day event, so with more room for losses and a format I'm usually doint well in I thought I had a decent shot.
Round 1 - Burn
Game one he floods out with me at five life despite him having four cards in hand. Game two I play two Knight of Autumn and Flicker each to gain 16 life an easily win.
1-0
Round 2 - Esper Smallpox
In one of the more stunning things thats happened to me in my time playing Modern, I kept a hand game one with Temple Garden, Ghost Quarter, Noble Hierarch, Path to Exile, Leonin Arbiter, Thalia, and Flickerwisp (aka the nuts). My opponent won the die roll and lead with Hallowed Fountain. I deployed Noble Hierarch turn one, all ready to destory his land the following turn. He played Urborg and cast Smallpox, and I basically lost on the spot. A few more turns of not drawing any lands and he finally played a Bitterblossom to kill me. Game two I won with zero lands in play after a turn one Vial put a Flickerwisp and two Restoration Angel in play and they finished him off. Game three he Inquisition my Vial and I can't beat Smallpox on my Noble Hierarch. I do stick an Angel but he has Ensnaring Bridge and he finishes me off with Kaya.
1-1
Round 3 - Burn
Playing against a long-time player Michael Ferri. Game one I play Thalia, he kills it. I play another, which also is killed. I then play a Rallier to get one back, and he has to kill it as well since he is stuck on two lands. The second Rallier putting a fourth Thalia into play finally sealed the deal. Game two I almost kept a zero land hand on seven cards: Vial Noble Noble Path Path Knight Flickerwisp. It would have been a first in my life doing such a thing. I decided to not be foolish and mulligan, and I was easily able to win.
2-1
Round 4 - Burn
Three burn opponents in four rounds is something. I used to believe the stereotype of Texas being a bunch of Red Mages was inaccurate, but having experienced this even I may change my tune. I go on to play Burn a total of five times in thirteen rounds. Game one he is stuck on one land and I'm able to GQ it with Arbiter. His only mana source draws were fetchlands the rest of the game. Game two I keep one land Vial and never draw another land. The game is close but I'm unable to catch up against his four-creature draw. Game three is also close and I probably punt by not being aggressive enough with Arbiter and GQ and he's able to cast his Boros Charms before I deny his white mana. He then has two Skullcrack to finish me off.
2-2
Round 5 - Dredge
Playing against longtime friend, collaborator, and teammate Robert Berni in the battle of who gets to Uber home early. He wins the die roll and my turn two Thalia isn't fast enough to do anything. Game two I have both Cage and a Scavenging Ooze that I protect from his Darkblast and ride to victory. Game three his start slower, with turn two Life From the Loam to get back one fetchland his only dredge enabler. I play a Leonin Arbiter. On his turn he replays the fetch and sacrifices. I ask if he is going to pay the two mana to search. He decides he's had enough Modern for his lifetime and immediately drops from the tournament. Sorry bro.
3-2
Round 6 - Burn
I lose a close game one when I miss a chump block that would save 3 damage. He kills me exactly the following turn. Game two he had Rest in Peace and Cindervines, both of which do mostly nothing. Eventually I use Dromoka's Command to kill an enchantment, and he sacrifices the Rest in Peace. This allows some trades and my Scavenging Ooze to come back to life and I win. Game three he kills my first two Aether Vials with Destructive Revelry, but doesn't have much else and the turn three Knight of Autum more than stabilizes the game for me.
4-2
Round 7 - MonoRed Phoenix
Three fairly close games that I don't remember much about. Scavenging Ooze does a ton of work, as does Vial into Flickerwisp on his high-powered Soul-Scar Mage to undo all the work he does to play multiple spells in a turn. I lose game two because Blessed Alliance was just really awful for me, but the third is more of the same like the first.
5-2
Round 8 - Jeskai Delver
He has turn one Delver game one, but no additional threats. My Scavenging Ooze and Thalia prevent him from doing much else and I'm able to win the race well out of Lightning Bolt range. Game two he plays a turn two Young Pyromancer and kills every creature I play. I die. Game three he has a removal heavy draw, but no early threat. I'm able to use the time to set up Vial with Flickerwisp and Restoration Angel to blank at least three of his removal spells and win easily from there.
6-2
So after 2-2 start I pull off the 4-0 run to make day two. I don't expect to be able to lose on day two at all (thinking 10-2-1 the record you need for top 8).
Round 9 - Tron
Game one was a pretty abusrd game. I decline to GQ him off turn three tron since I still need the land, hoping he misses it or doesn't have a good play. He has Ballista to clear my board. I then follow up with Thalia, but he uses Oblivion Stone to kill it and the Voice elemental token. I path a Wurmcoil and deploy a Scavenging Ooze attacking for 3 a turn. He has no follow up threat, just a Urza's Factory. I finally decide to use my GQ on the Factory since he has more than enough mana otherwise and pray that he draws blanks the rest of the game. The plan almost works. I attack him all the way to 4 life with a large board presence, leaving him a one-turn window to draw something to answer the board or trigger the Sanctum of Ugin. He draws Walking Ballista and I lose. Game two I play turn one Noble, turn two Arbiter plus GQ and he concedes on the spot. Game three I have him almost completely hard locked with Thalia, Arbiter, and he missing land drops. But he finally is able to cast Ancient Stirrings off of a Chromatic Sphere to find the missing Tron piece. I can only attack him down to 4 life and the Oblivion Stone he plays is enough to stop any kind of Restoration Angel surprise victories.
6-3
Round 10 - Tron
Game one is much like game two from the previous round: Noble into Arbiter plus GQ and he concedes. Game two I lose but don't remember much about how. Game three he is able to get a Thragtusk in play to go to 8 life against my two 4/3 Knight of Autumn. He has no followups and a Rallier to get back Thalia and I can alpha swing to kill him in one hit.
7-3
Round 11 - Tron
Third Tron opponent in a row! This time its Jon Toone, one of the better players in the event. Game one I keep a hand I'm almost certain I'm going to lose with: Scavenging Ooze, Rallier, Rallier, GQ, GQ, Forest, Plain on the draw. I draw nothing interesting first two turns, but he misses his third land so I'm able to use my GQ and Rallier plan to end up killing four total Tron pieces. It buys me enough time and I draw an additional Field of Ruin. He finally reaches all five basic Forests in play plus one other land to play Wurmcoil Engine, but I have the Path to put the game away. Game two I keep a one land hand with Noble and Stony Silence. He kills the turn 2 Stony with Nature's Claim, but that lets me use the Vial I draw to great advantage. Eventually I land a Damping Sphere, and when he goes for the Karn with eight lands due to my Thalia, I use Vial to put in Phyrexian Revoker in response to seal the deal.
8-3
Round 12 - Burn
Game one he floods with something like seven lands and five spells and I win comfortably. Game two he tries to go control with Grim Lavamancer, but a timely Dromoka's Command to prevent a Helix on my Arbiter and fight the Lavamancer puts me way too far ahead and he has to point too many spells at my creatures hoping to stay alive.
9-3
Round 13 - Grixis Phoenix
Game one I get him with a Arbiter off Vial in response to a fetch. I then get to Path the Thing in the Ice. He can't recover. Game two I have Cage and Vial. At some point I put Vial on four but don't use it despite having Angel in hand. This works out when he uses Kologhan's Command to deal two to my Arbiter and kill my Vial. The Angel comes it to turn the game around. He then makes a very aggressive attack with Crackling Drake, but I have Blessed Alliance to kill it and then draw Path for his Thing in the Ice and he's dead.
10-3
15th Place, $200
Mulligan Theory
A few things I noticed about this deck. I rarely got flooded thanks to low land count, four Canopy and the Rallier / Witness to bring them back. Most games didn't go long enough for flood to matter anyway. I also kept quite a few one land hands. These were mainly on the draw with Aether Vial in post board games with SB cards in hand, but I probably kept 5 or 6 total. It is definitely a strength of this deck to be able to keep those hands, and I'm not sure that the London Mulligan will help that aspect. You can probably still keep them, but the opportunity cost of skipping your opportunity to mulligan is going to be greater. I'm not entirely sure what that means, and maybe it was just strange variance to be keeping one lander almost 15% of my hands. But it's something worth thinking about in preparation for the Mythic Championship.
I enjoyed the deck quite a bit and will be exploring similar strategies in the near future.

Modern Preparation Part 2
Subtitle: I Can't Win With Anything and I'm Starting to Worry
Real quick update for the past week and a half. I've been playing all sorts of decks, no success with any of them really.
Mana Dork Decks
Played some GW and Naya Value Town. It was very medium. Ghost Quarter never was good enough on my opponent (but was solid on my own lands). Too many decks adjusted to Field of Ruin I suppose.
Played some Ponza for a friend who wants to borrow it. Blood Moon is good but not really good against the big decks you are worried about (Dredge, Phoenix, etc). Not a whole lot of good sideboard options.
Had a Temur Vannifar brew that could be promising but I'm not sure you actually want the red cards.
Aether Vial Decks
Humans went terribly, couldn't win a match. Same with both UG Merfolk and Mono Blue Merfolk (though I was really pushing the boundaries on some of those builds as experiments).
Spirits has been hit and miss. I haven't enjoyed Noble Hierarch against all the Gut Shot, and Company has felt medium or a liability against Thing in the Ice. You must play Path to answer Thing in the Ice. Deputy of Detention is not enough. Deputy is nice with Kira though, and Kira seems very strong right now. Trying a version with more Kira and Spell Pierce and no green cards next.
Other Decks
Faeries was neat but low powered. Thopter Prison was somewhat successful and I know Collin Rountree been having success but I'm skeptical of not playing Ancient Stirrings. It is a contender for me at least. Harden Scales was miserable, only winning when my opponent punted.
Next Steps
I've seen a few more lists I want to try out before really locking into a Prison deck (or Spirits backup) for the Hunter Burton Memorial Open. Possible some GW Hatebears, Bant Eldrazi, or more Vannifar decks.
